  V1.2.0B02 thru OTA in France
Posted by: Spiralcb - 18.09.2017, 10:06 - Forum: ZTE Axon 7 - No Replies

This week-end I receive the V1.2.0B02 thru OTA in France.

Two important "new" functionalities was added by ZTE.
- In settings, it's indicated if the device is crypted or not.
- The ability to set a boot password.

This two options are mandatory, in my case, to use the phone to connect to professionnal mails et calendars.

Very good news for me, and perhaps usefull for anybody in the same case.

best regards,

New Profile Field for faster Support
Posted by: illumi241 - 13.09.2017, 16:52 - Forum: Z-Union News - No Replies

Hello Z-Union Members,

I've added a new profile field "Phone Support Country" which you should consider to fill in.

How you can edit this field: Go into the "User CP" and there in the menu on the left side click on "Edit Profile". You will see some fields on the right side which you can edit, one of them is the mentioned field "Phone Support Country".
Please fill in the country in which you've bought your phone there, so that ZTE can redirect the requests to the correct team.

Small FAQ for that field and why you should consider filling it in:

Why should you use it?
As you might know, ZTE is a global company with different sub companies distributed around the globe and also in different european countries. It is easier for them to process your requests more directly if they know, where you bought the phone. For phones from different countries there might be specific adoptions, so that they need to redirect the request to the ZTE company responsible for that phone.

Is this field readable by anyone?
No, it is only readable by you, the Z-Union team and registered ZTE employees. We don't want to force you to tell anyone where you live, even if its only the country.

Is the field required?
No, it is an optional field. We would reccomend to fill it in as support is easier for ZTE with that information. As stated above, we don't want to force you to give out information, even if its only to us and ZTE employees.

Hey all! I got an A2017G on build 05. I have problems with roaming i cant seem to get 4G. Calling and 3G is ok.
At home (Belgium) no problem, my carrier is Telenet. I recently changed operator and i believe my APN settings are not ok. I called my provider but no help so far.
Anyone on telenet that can send me his settings or someone can shed a light? Thanks in advance!

Exclamation Camera2 API
Posted by: hulud - 01.09.2017, 16:11 - Forum: ZTE Axon 7 - Replies (2)

Hello everyone,
i post here in order to approach ZTE developers about the necessity to implement Camera2 API on axon7.
We share a lot of hardware with other terminals and as you can see here, the results are impressive:

This would not only a benefit of users with custom ROMs but also stock users, allowing them to solve the 0day issues with the camera image quality expecially in low light conditions.

What do you think? What ZTE think about this possible implementation?

  Can't update to 7.1.1
Posted by: Marko Klobučar - 25.08.2017, 22:50 - Forum: Axon 7 Mini - Replies (6)

Hello everyone! I'm from Croatia and I just recently bought a brand new ZTE Axon 7 Mini (as of writing this, 3 days ago). I read that ZTE have rolled out the 7.1.1 OTA and was told to go to Settings -> All settings -> Updates. But when I do that, the updater spins for a sec and then says "Your software is up to date."

I'm loving the phone, amazing build quality, great screen, decent specs for the price, but the battery life is killing me. I know I shouldn't expect miracles from a 2705 mAh battery, but to go from 100% to ~86% from 30 minutes of web browsing seems kinda bad.

I was hoping that the 7.1.1 version of Android would fix some of the battery life issues, but now that I'm not getting the ability to update I'm starting to get worried. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!
